Mediterranean Music Festival in May in Zurich, Bern, Frankfurt and Goeteborg
It is almost time! The second edition of the “Mediterranean Music Festival” will take place in May. You have the unique opportunity to experience 22 musicians from 10 different countries (Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Italy, Israel, Albania, Germany, France, Greece and Switzerland) in a unique ambience in Zurich, Bern, Frankfurt or Gothenburg. A journey into a world of distant musical listening habits awaits you. This special musical event was created by Greek composer and kanoun player Alkis Zopoglou with the vision of building intercultural bridges to the musical traditions of the Mediterranean.
In the strong trade winds of the Aegean Sea, melodies swirl and mix with the musical traditions of the lands near and far all around, forming beautiful, gentle love melodies. In the hands of the Greek Ensemble of the Aegean Islands, the characteristic musical instruments of this area – violin, zither, lute – give these melodies their special timbre.
The musician Georgios Georgopoulos, known as the “bouzouki of the 21st century”, moves into worldwide repertoires and has already gained many passionate fans.
