I always combine the trip to the Drakano Tower with a hike to Agios Georgios beach. EITHER you go down the narrow path to the right of the red car opposite this goat stable. The goat stable is about halfway to the tower. A red arrow shows the direction to the little church of Agios Georgios….. OR A different goat path leads from the Drakano tower from the Kassa house down to the little church.
To the left behind the little church a path leads down to the beach. Good shoes and possibly long pants are recommended, as the path sometimes leads through scratchy bushes.
The beach (half sandy, half rocky) is for me the most beautiful in Ikaria. The rocks that protrude from the water make it interesting for jumping into the water and give the bay a special character. The view of Samos and Fourni is extremely beautiful. You should have food and drink with you, there is hardly any shade.
