Island hopping has never been so easy!

Dodekanissos Seaway now also serves Ikaria (Agios Kyrikos)! This makes island hopping child’s play. You can now fly to Samos or Kos and from there come over to us on the super-fast speedboat! Suddenly, years of insurmountable distances have become very close! :-) Another idea would be to fly directly to Ikaria by regular ferry or plane and start some excursions from here by speedboat. I have noted ideas and tips below.

Dodekanissos Pride

That’s the name of our speedboat. The route is colored green on the map. The Pride departs from Pythagorion (Samos) every Monday and Wednesday from April 1st to October 31st at 8:30 a.m. and returns to Pythagorion at 6:30 p.m. Stay overnight in Pythagorion at Remezzo (the owners are very nice and they help you with the tickets and everything!)

Samos – Fourni – Ikaria – Patmos – Lipsi – Leros – Kalymnos – Kos and back again on the same day

It takes about one and a half hours from Ikaria to Samos with a stopover in Fourni, and three and a half hours from Kos. We have never been able to get from one island to the other so quickly! This leads directly to…

Island hopping – Excursion ideas

Patmos: For example, you could board the speedboat at 10:00 a.m., at 11:10 a.m. you’ll be in Patmos, visit the Apocalypse Monastery and do one of the wonderful hikes, and at 4:10 p.m. you’ll drive back to Ikaria. For overnight accommodation I recommend the Evons in Faros. This is close to Ikaria airport and close to Agios Kyrikos.

Kusadasi (Türkiye): I tried this with my family and I would do it again in a heartbeat! With the afternoon boat at 5:30 p.m. (1 hour) to Samos, overnight in Pythagorion near Remezzo (the owners are very nice and they help you with the tickets and everything!), in the morning with the boat to Kusadasi at 8:00 a.m. (1 hour) . For lovers of antiquity: definitely plan a visit to the incredible excavations of Ephesus. You can return to Samos on the same day or enjoy the Turkish atmosphere in the bazaar for two days.
