Cavos means headland in Greek. The hotel is located on the outermost rocky peak of Armenistis, directly by the sea. It offers breathtaking views of the unique colors of the sky and sea from sunrise to sunset from all verandas, the restaurant and the pool area.
The Cavos is a 3-star hotel with 41 rooms over six floors. It is a family business with many regular guests. Many guests have been coming here for years and meet roughly the same vacationers from Germany, Sweden, Belgium and England every year. Especially in the early and late season, it is ideal for holidaymakers who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle and love peace and quiet.
In the low season, the hotel is ideal for families with children, couples or solo travelers who are looking for peace and quiet, but also enjoy hiking, biking, swimming or snorkeling. When the sea is calm, you can easily get into the water from the rocks and enjoy swimming or snorkeling. If the sea is choppy, you can cool off in the saltwater pool (with a sea view) or take a walk to the beach. The hotel even has an elevator, a rarity in Ikaria, which makes it wheelchair accessible. You can even bring your beloved four-legged friend with you.
But in August, during the main travel season for the Greeks, peace and quiet is over. There is always a lot of activity at the pool and at the bar and you can also see a lot of teenagers and children.
Most rooms have a terrace or balcony facing the sea and are cleaned daily by very nice chambermaids who speak almost exclusively Greek. The studios are on the lower floors, have small kitchenettes and shade trees on the terraces. The breakfast buffet is very rich by Greek standards. Since the hotel is located in the middle of the village, the taverns, the supermarket, the many small shops are easily accessible on foot, the harbor and the village beach are a 5-minute walk away and the sandy beach is a 10-minute walk away.
The Cavos is also particularly suitable for seminars, workshops or meetings that require an enclosed space. It has a very nice, large seminar room with sea views and stone floors, right by the pool. Our dance holiday weeks – the sound massage – the language workshops also take place here. It is also an ideal starting point for various excursions on foot, by car or on a scooter. The mountain village of Raches, famous for its nightlife, and the picturesque Nas are both not far away. Some beautiful signposted hikes start close to the hotel.
And last but not least, the support provided by the hotelier family is very individual and personal. By the way, the hotelier speaks German well, even if he doesn’t dare. He sometimes takes you with him in his car when there is no bus or lends you his laptop in an emergency. The receptionist can help with difficult phone calls or organize pick-up taxis for arrival or the journey home. You will always find support!
The Cavos makes special offers for our readers. So if you are interested, just write a short message about your holiday wishes. You speak German.
