The Living Museum of Greek Dance<\/h2>\n

An institution in the public interest financed by funds from the Ministry of Culture and the National Organization for Tourism under the auspices of the City of Athens<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

– Daily performances in the Garden Theater (860 seats) on Philopappou Hill opposite the Acropolis<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 A group consisting of 75 dancers, musicians and folk singers<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 A collection of over 2,000 handmade traditional costumes, jewelry and other folk art pieces worn on stage<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 A school offering courses, lectures and workshops on Greek dance, folk embroidery and traditional culture<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Special programs for primary schools<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Field research on dance ethnography, history or sociology<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Study groups, courses and workshops on ancient Greek dance<\/p>\n

– Archives with books, articles, recordings, photos, videos and films on the subject of dance<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Publications: more than 40 LPs, 15 CDs, 15 cassettes, 7 video cassettes, 30 books on dance in several languages, 8 CD-ROMs and 5 DVDs<\/p>\n

– Copies of costumes and accessories made for folk dance groups<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Organization of annual events: World Congresses on Dance Research, Anapali Festival, Emmelia Festival<\/p>\n

–\u00a0 Maintenance of the Dance Pandect portal: www.dance-pandect.gr<\/p>\n
