Official website of Athens Airport<\/a> with flight status arrivals and departures. The airport has two levels: lower floor arrivals and upper floor departures.<\/p>\n

Change money<\/h1>\n

They say that euros are cheaper to buy in a euro country, so as a Swiss citizen you can buy euros at the airport with foreign currency. But beware! The exchange offices are very expensive! After customs, when you come out into the visitor or collection zone, you can change at ALPHA-BANK for much cheaper and they also charge less exchange fees! Opening hours Mon-Fri 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Sat-Sun and public holidays 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. There are also ATMs everywhere where you can easily withdraw money as a traveler. By the way, \u201ccapital controls\u201d still apply to Greeks, ie. that they cannot withdraw more than \u20ac420 per week. But if you have a foreign account, which is probably the case, this doesn’t affect you. You can draw as much as you want.<\/p>\n

Set suitcase<\/h1>\n

If you’re staying in Athens and have a large suitcase, it’s worth packing it in so you don’t have to lug it around with you. I always do that! There is luggage storage on the lower floor, i.e. on the arrival level. When you come out of customs clearance, it’s at the back left of the entrance hall – right next to the toilets, good to know where they are ;-). Is very safe. From the airport to Piraeus port<\/h1>\n

From the airport there is a direct express bus Travel time: 1 hour if you don’t get caught in a traffic jam during rush hour. The ticket costs just under \u20ac10. You can also take the metro to Piraeus, but it is more expensive and you have to change in Syntagma with all your luggage. I recommend the bus!<\/p>\n

You can also take a taxi. But please the yellow ones, the black ones are limos. The costs are now fixed and are posted on the taxi rank. You can also pay by card, but check with the driver before the journey.<\/p>\n

Normally the ships to and from Ikaria dock at Gate E1. (no guarantee!) From the Piraeus metro station there is a small shuttle bus to the gate and back. And there is also a taxi rank right next to the ship if you want to go to the city or the airport from Ikaria when you arrive.<\/p>\n

Athens is a fantastic metropolis! You can eat delicious food and take a wonderful stroll there. You find everything!
