Greek language workshops in Armenistis
With the two philologists and adult educators Christiana Katsarou and Effie Stergiou
Join us on an innovative Greek learning experience. Two professional and highly qualified language teachers will share with you their passion for the Greek language and culture, through Greek and Ikarian art and culture: music, songs, dance, theater, traditions and festivals, local gastronomy, experiential learning and activities… always in one relaxed way! “Experience and learn through cultural adventures and real emotions is the motto of our team! Dear Greece, learn Greek and authentic Greek culture” in the beautiful village of Armenistis in Raches.
All levels from A1-C2 of the Greek language. Groups of 2-10 participants.
Special workshop
Greek for language experts: Participants with professional interests in the Greek language, such as translators, interpreters and academics, can further expand their knowledge.
Workshop Ancient Greek: Participants will study ancient and ancient Greek texts (e.g. Xenophon, Plato, Herodotus, Sophocles). No prior knowledge of ancient Greek is necessary.
Christiana Katsarou is an adult educator in the field of language and culture. She studied Greek philology, theater studies, and completed her master’s degree in anthropology, Greek cultural studies and folklore. Her research work focused on the traditional festivals on Ikaria. She has conducted many workshops in cultural associations in Greece, Europe, Canada and Israel, where she also initiated workshops on Greek dancing. Christiana was a Greek language trainer in public and private institutions, as well as an examiner of the Greek language certificate. She is the cultural coordinator of the IKARIADANCE PROJECT. She speaks English, French and German.
Effie Stergiou studied Greek Philology at the University of Crete and completed her Masters in Adult Education at the Greek Open University. She is a certified adult educator and assessor of EOPPEP (National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Career Guidance) and she has worked as a Greek teacher in private and public institutions. She specializes in teaching Ancient Greek and Katharevousa. Since 2009 she has been an examiner for the Greek certificate (Certification of knowledge of Greek language). Effie has attended numerous adult education conferences and is a member of the Hellenic Adult Education Association (HAEA). She speaks English and Italian.
